The 50-year-old woman who died in a stabbing at her north Belfast home was Anne Marie O'Kane.
Her body was discovered at her flat in North View Apartments on the Antrim Road on Monday after police were contacted by a 51-year-old man.
He handed himself into police at Glengormley on Monday morning.
The 51-year-old was later arrested on suspicion of murder.
