Twelve teenagers who were arrested after a man was severely injured in a large-scale disturbance in Raunds have been released on police bail.
The fracas happened at about 0100 BST on Sunday near a McDonald's restaurant on the A45.
The man, 20, who suffered life-threatening head injuries, is in a "critical but stable" condition in hospital.
Northamptonshire Police have appealed for witnesses to the incident.
Four of those arrested are from Raunds - a 19-year-old man and three 17-year-old boys.
Four are from Rushden - a 17-year-old boy and three 16-year-old boys.
Two are from Stanwick - two men aged 19 and 18.
And two are from Wellingborough - a 17-year-old girl and a 14-year-old boy.
