A man accused of ordering the murder of his wife during their honeymoon in South Africa is being treated in hospital, his spokesman has said.
Shrien Dewani, who has been suffering from clinical depression and a stress disorder, was taken to Bristol Royal Infirmary on Sunday, Max Clifford said.
A source close to the Dewani family added that he had had a reaction to sleeping tablets.
Mr Dewani has denied any involvement in the death of his wife Anni.
South African authorities want him to be extradited to stand trial accused of ordering the shooting of Mrs Dewani.
South Africa's Director of Public Prosecutions Menzi Semelani has accused Mr Dewani of committing a "heinous crime".
The 31-year-old, who is on bail, was unable to attend a recent court hearing because he is suffering from depression and severe post-traumatic stress disorder.
A source close to the Dewani family told the BBC: "Shrien had a reaction to sleeping tablets that he'd taken; he was taken to hospital as a precaution and was able to sleep off the effects.
"He has been passed medically fit to return home, he will be home later today.
"He continues to suffer from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, a condition exacerbated by continuing false revelations in South Africa, and prejudicial comments by the prosecutor there."
'Increasingly concerned'Mr Clifford said: "He's been increasingly ill over the last couple of months, he's been losing weight.
