Tributes have been paid to a young father killed in a road crash on Anglesey at the weekend.

Plumber Carl Wynne Hughes, 22, from Clwt-y-Bont, near Caernarfon, died in the collision involving a silver BMW on the A5 at Star, near Gaerwen at about 0130 GMT on Saturday.

His family said he was a keen fisherman and the father of a 17-month-old boy.

Three people were treated in hospital in Bangor for minor injuries. Police are appealing for witnesses.

The family paid tribute to Carl Felin, as he was known, in a statement issued through police.

They said he also enjoyed going to the gym but was happiest listening to music and being in the company of his partner Eleri Thomas and their son Gethin.
