A murder investigation has begun following the death of a man from Weston-super-Mare.
Paul Birch, 26, died in Bristol's Frenchay Hospital on Saturday after suffering a serious head injury on the evening of Tuesday 31 May.
A 37-year-old man from Weston has been arrested on suspicion of murder.
Police said it was believed the injury may have been caused during an incident in a doorway in the resort's Alfred Street at about 1930 BST on Tuesday.
Det Ch Insp Simon Crisp, from Avon and Somerset Police, said: "I would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time and may have seen or heard anything to come forward."
