A man has died after apparently falling from a moving car in west London.
The 23-year-old was taken to hospital at 0020 BST on Friday with head injuries sustained on the eastbound A40 near to the junction with Hanger Lane in Ealing.
A Metropolitan Police spokesman said he died six hours later. A post-mortem examination is due to be held shortly.
The man's next of kin have been notified but formal identification is yet to take place.
The Met spokesman said: "Inquiries are under way to establish the full circumstances but at this early stage it is believed that the man fell from a moving car travelling along the A40.
"The car did not stop."
