A 61-year-old man has been charged with the rape and kidnap of a young woman in Newport early on Thursday.
Police had appealed for information after an incident involving an 18-year-old woman, who had been walking along Chepstow Road.
The alleged assault happened in Nash Road in the city's Goldcliff area after the woman got into a car.
A man was later arrested and is due to appear before Caerphilly Magistrates on Monday.
