Hodgson sorry over Olsson bust-up

West Brom boss Roy Hodgson has said sorry to Stoke after Baggies defender Jonas Olsson smashed a picture in the tunnel at the end of Monday's 1-1 draw.

The incident followed an angry exchange between Olsson and Stoke striker Ricardo Fuller after the final whistle.

"Olsson smashed some memorabilia and that is very disappointing," said Stoke manager Tony Pulis.

Baggies boss Hodgson said: "I think one of the players had a bit of a fight with a picture and unfortunately won."

The Baggies rescued a point at the Britannia Stadium when Carlos Vela, on loan from Arsenal, struck an equaliser after 87 minutes.

The Mexican international's goal cancelled out Rory Delap's 53rd-minute header and helped lift the visitors out of the Premier League relegation zone, a point above West Midlands rivals Wolves.

Hodgson was delighted with his side's battling qualities but a lot of the talk after the game focused on Olsson's indiscretion.

Hodgson said the Swede had become "emotional" when a Stoke player had refused to shake his hand.

"I am pretty certain that a team that plays with so much heart and determination as Stoke will probably forgive us for breaking a picture," added the former Liverpool and Fulham manager.
