Dalglish ready for Man Utd battle

Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish said Sunday's Premier League match against fierce rivals Manchester United is the "highest category of game you can get".

The teams have won 18 league titles each, although in recent seasons the Anfield outfit have been unable to match United's trophy haul.

"Everybody plays football to play at the highest level they possibly can," said Dalglish.

"Anybody that's playing football would love to play in these games."

Dalglish is in his second stint as Reds boss after taking over the reins when Roy Hodgson was sacked earlier this season - and the Scot's first game back in charge was the 1-0 FA Cup third round defeat at Old Trafford.

The 60-year-old said he did not have much time to prepare for that game in January, having stepped off a long-haul flight only 24 hours before the day of the fixture.
