People have been allowed to return to their homes after a man found a bomb shell in his garage in Bedfordshire.
Police were called to Shortmead Street in Biggleswade on Thursday after the man found what he thought was an old bomb.
Residents in houses on either side of the property were evacuated and the area was sealed off.
The cordon was lifted on Thursday evening after a bomb disposal team found that the item was an empty shell.
